About us

our story

One fine day in the month of July 2018, we fellow veterinarian friends come together for common goal of social work in the area of our own interest “animal husbandry”. Sometimes working as government officers we have limited scope for our work and we could not able to do the things as we wish. So after many discussions over a cup of tea and morning walks, our journey started to form a right platform so that our common goal can be fulfilled. We decided to start a NGO to help farmers and cattle owners in the western Maharashtra. To start with we group of twelve veterinarians formed Blue Cross Foundation, Sangli. And in very short time we have got support from over 135 veterinarians from Sangli District, working in Maharashtra, India and abroad.
Veterinarians play important role in society because they serve animals by taking care of their health and productivity and ultimately resulting in availability of nutritious high quality foods for the service of mankind
So all the local and resident veterinarians of the Sangli district of Maharashtra came together to form and establish “Blue cross welfare foundation, Sangli”. We decided our area of operation for the foundation shall be the districts in western Maharashtra Sangli, Kolhapur, Satara, Solapur and Pune. In future we also aim to cover all districts in Maharashtra.
